Home Staging...
When selling your home it is important that you take an objective look at your house and property.

Prospective buyers view homes for sale both on-line, with their Agent and by attending multiple open houses. One thing that we do to ensure that our clients’ homes stand out is to help them prepare their homes for sale – a practice known as “home staging”.

You might be surprised to learn that “home staging” is actually what you do after you've cleaned, removed all the clutter, touched up the paint, made minor repairs, spruced up your gardens, etc. Some sellers do this on their own while others hire prefer to hire a professional “home stager”. Either way, the results should be the same. Potential home buyers viewing your home should see the HOUSE….NOT the home owner.

Some home staging basics:

• Remove diplomas and family photos from the walls and table tops
• Don’t leave your mail where people can find it
• People might want to peek inside the cupboards and drawers – clear them of any clutter and personal items
• Don't leave any clues that could give away your motivation to sell.
Why you’re selling, especially if you need to sell quickly, is not information that you want to share with perspective buyers

Furniture & Accessories

• Arrange furniture to allow for a flow of traffic
• Fresh flowers are always a nice touch
• Appropriate window coverings are important and can really help sell your home
• Arrange scented soaps and fresh towels in the bathroom
• Lighting is important – natural light is a plus but use lamps to your advantage

And finally, whether you’re selling your home in Leaside, The Beaches, Leslieville, Cabbagetown or one of Toronto’s other sought after neighbourhoods, spruce up your property so that it compares favourably to the rest of your street.

Remember, 1st impressions really do count!!
